Chapter 3

Be careful who you help!

B. Class Activity:

1. An incident when you helped someone, and you fell in trouble.

One day, I saw a boy from another class struggling to carry his school bag and water bottle. I offered to help him and carried his bag to the front gate. But while doing so, I got late for my own school bus. The bus left without me, and I had to wait with the teacher for my parents to pick me up. Though I got into trouble, I still felt good for helping someone in need.


2. Should we make promises? Did you keep or break them?

Yes, we should make promises, but only when we are sure we can keep them. A promise is like giving our word, and it builds trust.

Once, I promised my friend that I would bring his notebook the next day. But I forgot it at home, and he couldn’t complete his homework. I felt very bad and said sorry. Since then, I try to keep my promises and write them down, so I don’t forget.

Ans – The sheep started crying because the lion tried to eat him after breaking the promise.

ACTIVITY

The quote “Sometimes generosity brings trouble” means that helping others is good, but we should be careful. Some people may take advantage of our kindness, just like the lion in the story who broke his promise and tried to eat the sheep. We should help others but also think wisely and be alert before helping someone we don’t know well.

 

Chapter 4: Too Quick to Judgement

1. If your best friend takes more Pizza/chocolates in your birthday party, and few of your friends didn’t get little also… What you will do and feel about that friend?

I will feel a little bad and tell my friend kindly that others didn’t get enough. I will share with the others and explain sharing is important.

2. Christina took a bite from both the apples and then gave one. Was she right?

Yes, because she only wanted to find out which apple was sweeter to give the better one to her father.

Ans - Christina’s father bought only two apples because he had not brought much money with him, just enough to buy two apples.

Ans - Christina’s father was surprised and sad because she took a bite from both apples without saying anything, and he thought she was being selfish and did not want to share.

Ans - He thought Christina had no values, was selfish and didn’t know how to share.

Ans - When Christina said she was giving him the sweeter apple after tasting both.

5.     What was the reason for Christina taking quick bites from both the apples?

Ans - She wanted to find out which apple was juicier and sweeter to give that one to her father.

Ans - “Father have this one, this one is juiciest and much more sweeter.”

I wake up early and do my homework without being told. I help my mother with small chores at home. I also saved my pocket money and didn’t spend it on junk food.

Dear Diary,

I am planning to save my pocket money to buy a small gift for my mother. She loves plants, so I want to buy a small flower pot for her. I know it will make her happy and surprised. I will secretly keep it on her table.

The Free Advice

B. Class Activity:

1.     If you were the son, what would you do when people blame you?

If I were the son, I would try to ignore the unnecessary comments and focus on what is right. I would ask my father to do what is comfortable for both of us and not worry about what others say.

2.     Would you and your father both continue to sit on the donkey’s back?

No, I would not let both of us sit on the donkey’s back because it would make the donkey tired and suffer. I would prefer that only one of us rides at a time or we walk along with the donkey.

Ans - Rupendra advised his father to purchase a donkey so they would not be tired from carrying heavy clothes every day.

The old lady was angry because the old man never thanked her for the food and instead kept saying “What goes around comes around” in a loud and harsh voice. She misunderstood his words as mockery instead of wisdom.
